CLEVELAND CRUNCH APPOINTS FORMER CRUNCH PLAYER BENNY DARGLE AS HEAD COACH

Cleveland, Ohio, October 27, 2022 - The Cleveland Crunch has appointed retired professional indoor soccer player and former Cleveland Crunch player (89’-90’) Benny Dargle as head coach for the 2022-2023 Major League Indoor Soccer (MLIS) season.

“I am very pleased to be named head coach for the 2022-2023 season,” Dargle says. “I know the team has had two successful seasons in a row. I am excited to keep that success going and ultimately looking to bring another Crunch championship to Cleveland.”

Dargle—a native of Liverpool, England—has made over 500 appearances throughout his professional career and has played for The University of Akron, Cleveland Crunch (89’-90’), Cleveland Force (83’-88’), Canton Invaders (91’-96’), Cleveland Cobras (78’), Detroit Express (79’) (80’), Detroit Express Indoor (79’-80’) (80’-81’), Washington Diplomats (81’), Seattle Sounders Indoor (81’-82’), and Seattle Sounders (83’).

Dargle has 20+ years of coaching experience. He acted as the Cleveland FC Soccer Camp director for more than 15 years, served as a head coach for Ashland University, Canton Invaders and Midpark High School, and was the assistant coach for Brunswick High School and Magnificat High School.
