CLEVELAND CRUNCH DOMINATES 2023-24 MLIS AWARDS: SULJEVIC, JORDAN, MANFUT, AND MORE SHINE
In a sweep of recognition, the Major League Indoor Soccer (MLIS) unveiled its 2023-24 regular season awards, spotlighting familiar faces at the top of their game.
Admir Suljevic clinched the title of Most Valuable Player for his outstanding performance. The #10 midfielder showcased his skill with 38 points, including 21 goals and 17 assists throughout the season. Meanwhile, Crunch Defender and Team Captain Dave Jordan secured the Defensive Player of the Year honor.
Adding to the accolades, the Cleveland Crunch proudly introduced Antonio Manfut as their new head coach for the 2023-24 season. With a stellar track record in professional indoor soccer, Manfut's leadership propelled the team to 9 wins and the regular season championship, earning him the Coach of the Year title.
The MLIS All-League Team featured three standout Crunch players: Suljevic, Kevin Blackwood and Ryan Minick. Blackwood notched 31 points, including 18 goals and 13 assists, while Minick contributed 28 points with 13 goals and 15 assists this season.
Jordan, Suljevic, Blackwood and Minick, all seasoned veterans with the Crunch, have been instrumental in the team's success. Together, they led the Crunch to a championship in 2021, marking the team's triumphant return under new ownership.
Capping off their remarkable season, the Cleveland Crunch clinched the title of 2023-2024 Regular Season Champions, boasting an impressive 9-3 record.
