by Luciano Ruscitto

(CLEVELAND, Ohio) June 22, 2021 - The Cleveland Crunch has partnered with several youth sports, community recreation, and local non-profit organizations to bring youth soccer opportunities to cities across the greater Cleveland and Akron areas this summer. The organization hopes that bringing people together through the game of soccer will have a positive impact on the community.

The first soccer camp is set to take place June 25-27 at Huffman/Cunningham Park in Medina, OH. This camp is hosted through a partnership with the city of Medina and the Medina Community Recreation Center (MCRC) and offers a discounted rate for its members. On July 10-11, the Cleveland Crunch and Cardinal Local Schools will host a soccer camp at Cardinal Middle School in Middlefield, OH. Both camps will be open to all ages 4-17.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays starting June 22 through July 29, the Cleveland Crunch players and staff will visit the MetroHealth Pediatric Wellness Center summer day camp to provide recreational-based games and soccer activities to its participants. In partnership with America Scores Cleveland, the Crunch plans to visit schools and recreation centers within the city of Cleveland during the month of July to provide similar activities and community events for its residents.

Additionally, the Cleveland Crunch plans to host another adapted soccer camp for individuals on the autism spectrum in partnership with Share A Vision at the Mentor Heisley Indoor Soccer Center. More information regarding the dates and times of the camp will be released within the next week. The Crunch is also in the process of finalizing dates to host soccer camps at various locations in Lake and Cuyahoga County with a goal to expand further into the Ashtabula, Lorain, Portage, and Summit county areas.

A special thank you to our youth camp sponsors MetroHealth, UN1TUS, and the B Brave foundation who generously donated water bottles to our youth camp participants.
