CLEVELAND CRUNCH ROOKIES MAKE AN IMPACT IN 11-1 VICTORY AGAINST CINCINNATI SWERVE
Cleveland, OH - The Cleveland Crunch secured a decisive 11-1 victory against interstate rival, Cincinnati Swerve, Saturday evening in a game that saw seven rookies take the field for the Crunch, including three making their professional debut.
Second-year goalkeeper Connor Robinson was named the Metrohealth ‘Man of the Match,’ after recording an impressive 11 saves that kept the Swerve at bay. Rookie Parker Csiszar led all scorers with four goals, Ryan Minick netted a hat-trick, Tom Beck contributed two goals of his own, while Chris Cvecko and Rookie Bobby Tsirambidis rounded out the scoring with one goal each.
The Crunch also tallied a team total of 10 assists. Defensive duo Boban Cancar and Dave Jordan combined for six total, while Csiszar, Cvecko, Tom Beck, and Adan Tejada, in his rookie debut, contributed one each.
Seventeen year old goalkeeper, Yuriy Tukalevskyy, replaced Robinson midway through the fourth quarter and made two key saves to keep the Swerve at one goal. Raymond Salukombo also made his debut for the Crunch on Saturday night contributing on the offensive side of the ball
With this victory, the Crunch advance to a record of 7-3 on the season. They will host the Detroit Waza at home on Saturday, March 18 at the Soccer Sportsplex.
