CRUNCH SECURES WIN OVER CHICAGO MUSTANGS, ADVANCES TO 7-1

The Cleveland Crunch advanced to 7-1 last night with a 12-3 win over the Chicago Mustangs.

The first period set the tone for Cleveland, as Michael Derezic scored 16 seconds into the match. Just over 2 minutes later, Chris Cvecko scored off a pass from Ryan Minick to extend the Crunch’s lead to 2-0. Gabriel Jurado of the Chicago Mustangs put one in, making it 2-1, but the Crunch responded with goals from Tom Beck and David Jordan, ending the first period with a  4-1 lead.

The second period continued Cleveland's offensive onslaught, with Tom Beck and Kevin Blackwood each finding the back of the net. Admir Suljevic's shootout goal and another from Minick further solidified the Crunch's lead, bringing the score to 7-1 at the half.

In the third period, Cleveland continued to dominate, with Derezic adding another goal to his tally, making it 8-1. The fourth period saw the Crunch extend their lead even further, with Ma'Cain Spragling, Bryan Wolanski, Suljevic and Minick all finding the back of the net. Despite Nestor Dominguez and Adam Przytula scoring for the Chicago Mustangs, Cleveland sealed their victory with a final score of 12-3.

Crunch goalkeeper Marijo Musa earned the MetroHealth ‘Man of the Match’ with seven saves. The Crunch heads to Omaha next weekend to take on the Kings in back-to-back matches Friday March 15 and Saturday March 16th.
