August 5, 2021 (CLEVELAND, Ohio) – The Major Arena Soccer League 2 revealed the latest set of league-wide award winners for the 2021 season in a press release on Wednesday that included Cleveland Crunch star Mike Derezic earning Newcomer of the Year award honors. Derezic spearheaded a dominant Crunch offense all season long, recording 17 goals and 6 assists in 7 games played. 

After netting consecutive hat-tricks in back-to-back games vs. the Colorado Inferno to open the season, Derezic was among the league leaders in scoring and points per game average. Derezic was able to maintain his position as one of the best offensive threats in the league, scoring a hat-trick in 4 out of 7 games and finishing the regular season as the league leader in points per game average with 3.3. The Crunch forward continued his run of form into the M2 Championship weekend recording 5 goals and 2 assists (7 points) that included a hat-trick in the semi-final match.
