MUSA, BLACKWOOD, DEREZIC, JORDAN AND SULJEVIC EARN MASL 2 ALL-LEAGUE TEAM HONORS

July 29, 2021 (CLEVELAND, Ohio) – League officials of the Major Arena Soccer League 2 announced the 2021 First Line, Second Line, and Third Line All-League Team this week. A total of 5 Cleveland Crunch players were among the players honored.

Goalkeeper Marijo Musa, who won the Hernan “Chico” Borja MVP award for his playoff performance, was named to the All M2 First Line. Musa led the league in every statistical category for goalkeepers allowing an average of 5.5 goals per game and recording a .815 save percentage throughout 6 regular-season games. 

Defender/midfielder Kevin Blackwood who appeared in 7 regular-season games was named to the All M2 First Line for his stellar performances on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. Blackwood scored 10 goals and added 4 assists for a total of 14 points in the regular season including 2 game-winning goals, a 6 point performance (3 goals, 3 assists) in a single game, and a bicycle kick goal that will be remembered as one of the best goals in indoor soccer history. In the playoffs, Blackwood recorded 2 goals and 1 assist.

Defender and team Captain Dave Jordan was named to the All M2 Second Line. Jordan appeared in 8 regular-season games where he recorded 8 goals and 4 assists for a total of 12 points. He contributed 4 goals and 1 assist in the playoffs including a hat-trick (3 goals) performance in the M2 semi-final.

Midfielder/Forward Mike Derezic, with 23 points in the regular season, was also named to the All M2 Second Line. Derezic was a force to be reckoned with on offense for the Crunch this season. He played in 7 regular-season games and had a team-high 17 goals and 6 assists, as well as 5 goals and 2 assists in the playoffs. Derezic also led the team points per game average with a 3.3. 

Midfielder Admir Suljevic was named to the All M2 Third Line. In 6 regular-season games, Suljevic recorded 17 points on 10 goals and led the team in assists with 7. Suljevic had a dominant playoff performance recording a league-leading 6 goals and 4 assists (10 points) including 4 goals in the M2 Championship game. 

Individual player awards, coach’s awards, and the league MVP honors will be announced later next week by the MASL 2 league officials.
